Mommy and Me

Pratcie you yoga, sing, laugh and rejoice! The class is fun and lighthearted, creating a deeper bond between mom and young kiddos and a great way to introduce your family to yoga. We include music, games and stories. Caregivers can also partake in the class instead of mom.

Ages 0-5 welcome.  

Pranayama Practice:

Prana is an energy or a life force that is responsible for all movement and activity, in our world and within our bodies. The movement of the breath and the movement of the thoughts are intimately linked. When the mind is agitated the breath will be rapid, when the breath is calm the mind will be in a more peaceful state. When we control the breath with our pranayama practice, we can also control the thoughts in the mind.  Although each yoga class has pranayama built in, this class will lead us to a deeper practice and understanding of pranayama.

Open Meditation:

Meditation provides a way to be present with ourselves, quiet the mind and increase our happiness, health, and peace. In Mindfulness Meditation we learn to listen to and understand the inner workings of our own minds by watching the activity of the mind.  Open Mediation means you may arrive or leave any time during the class.  Mindfulness Meditation instruction will be given in the beginning of class, those who are experienced in meditation may arrive quietly at any time during class, and those who do not want to sit for the full hour may also leave when they are finished with their meditation practice.

People who practice meditation regularly experience reduced depression, fear and anxiety; a greater ability to relax and enjoy life; reduced insomnia and levels of stress; improved interpersonal relations; reduced chronic and acute pain and increased inner peace and wellbeing.
